What is walking distance?

Visiting Curacao for the first time in June.

 

Beach AM - Thinking of doing the ship excursion to Mambo Beach in the morning OR just getting a taxi. We have six adults, so I'm thinking about transportation options

 

PM - Is the Port near shopping and sites? We're hoping to just do a self-guided walking tour in the afternoon.

 

Thoughts? Having trouble finding information about distance from port to sites and availability of transport to Mambo Beach.

The Fort with shopping is very close to the pier., maybe 1/4-1/2 mile. easy sidewalk walk.  Then another short walk to teh bridge and you can cross over into Willelmstad (?).
