Mamato5 Posted April 6 #1 Share Posted April 6 (edited) So we have cabin 13658 booked on Odyssey of the seas. It is the only balcony on deck 13 that is considered ‘obstructed view’. The location is amazing and the view is so much better than the deck 6 lifeboats! We saved a huge chunk vs picking a non-obstructed balcony cabin. I found a cruiser in a FB group who stayed in this exact cabin and she loved it. What she didn’t quite know was what the ‘obstruction’ is. See photos. Is this something they use to wash the windows/railings? Is it ever lowered? This room location on other quantum class ships isn’t considered ‘obstructed’. Thanks!! Coralc Posted April 6 #2 Share Posted April 6 (edited) It is the window washing equipment. They probably park it there when it is not in use. it is fine and doesn't impact your view at all. Have a great cruise! It is not lowered, (that I have seen) it just slides along the side of the ship. Probably should explain a bit. A harnessed crew member stands on it and pressure washes the windows and balconies. Edited April 6 by Coralc
