Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #101 Share Posted April 25 Day 4 was a pretty sedate day for me. As i said, getting drunk and sleeping way early threw me off. I actually went back to bed at 9:00 and slept for a couple more hours before getting Poke. I also ended yo trying the Pizza. Menu. This is pretty fly for a white pie with truffle oil added to it. Yeah, I took a bite. Remember about my cruise superlatives? Best Cruise Pizza hands down. No contenders come close. This is a REALLY good pizza. I ended up hitting food coma and hanging in my room. Watched the Movie Ferrari that was on my list. My wife texted me from the Divia Cabaret. It was fun. Drag Queens are fun.
Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #102 Share Posted April 25 (edited) Dinner was at the Wake. My wife is not impressed but thats because her allergies prevent her from enjoying much of the menu. We’ve been here for brunch earlier and now dinner. Due to the lack of choice for her, we won’t be coming back to this one. Menu Bread Garlic butter We got a 1/2 dozen oysters Hamachi Crudo. This was good. Bone Marrow. Delicious. Filet. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Wife got the Salmon. She was not impressed. It was overcooked. side of twice baked potato and asparagus Dessert menu Lemon Cheesecake. This was wonderful. Apple Tatin This was ok. Edited April 25 by Rogueperson

I’m surprised they haven’t made a 3rd/4th menu yet. Third menu is coming in July this year for food month and will then become permanent. Not clear yet whether a menu will be removed. 1
Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #104 Share Posted April 25 Good morning from. We are about 540 miles from Bermuda now. Last night we saw Nadeen, a stage hypnotist. My wife was on of the ones on stage. I got video 🤫. we saw a band in the Manor called Dustin and the Hustle One thing I notice now in Virgin is that they don’t have a dance club venue every night like other cruises I’ve been on. I have mix feelings because on the one hand, it keeps it fresh and energetic and less wasted space. On the other hand, if you wanna go party the night away, you may not have a venue. Or was it held elsewhere besides the Manor because I was at the Manor until 1:30am with this band.

Yeah, I was on a 15 night cruise and never ran across this. I obviously need to do a little more exploring on the next cruise. I knew some of the bars had food options outside of what we got at the restaurants and the Galley, but got a little lazy and never got around to exploring them. Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #106 Share Posted April 25 I had a late night last night. After the concert, I went back to the room. The in-room movies are cool. There are a handful of movies on my watchlist that are here but I am currently unable to stream. I may have mentioned I saw Ferrari. Last night, it was the new Hunger Games movie, Ballad of songbirds and Snake. Did not realize it was a long 2 hour 37 minute movie. So i ended up going to sleep after 4am. Fortunately, we did not lose an hour this night.

This is unique to the transatlantic, on most other itineraries the Manor will be open every night (unless in port overnight). Whereas on a 14 night trip they know people won’t have the stamina to stay out every night. Heartbeat is on tonight which is one of my favourite club nights! I missed the club night on Tuesday as I checked out early. It looked generic but i wanted to see how a generic club looked like. Do all the club nights have themes? Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #109 Share Posted April 25 Brunch was hard as I had Reservations at Razzle Dazzle at 11am after dropping asleep at almost 5am because of the movie. I didn’t get a picture of the restaurant last time. Brunch Menu Apple Cruffin The neighboring table got the watermelon & sesame cream. Its huge!! Mushroom tartare. It was ok. Sunny side scramble. This was decent. Razzle Dazzle cake. This was yummy but I was really really full at this point. And i also got the rainbow churros because i’m a pig. I may have gotten too much food. As I was still groggy, I returned to the Grounds club. The espresso martini had a cold brew in its ingredients but when I asked for it, they didn’t have it. Its not on the menu, but wasn’t it on the menu before? I thought i saw it online somewhere.

Usually there is slight themes to them like Heartbeat, Studio 72 etc. But again the one the other night that was just listed as club night is unusual because it’s the transatlantic.
Rare Rogueperson Posted April 25 Author #111 Share Posted April 25 Oh, forgot to add in the Razzle Dazzle post. There’s a bar in the back people can go to. 1

They used to serve cold brew but that stopped about two years ago.

Also, on their ipad, there’s a video on how to do it on your own. It apparently is pretty easy. The ipad has a specific option to request it as well as a guide on how to do it yourself. When i requested it to be made back to the bed, our room steward was knocking on the door like a minute later.

It is a luggage scale. 9 bucks off of amazon. Easily weighed my bag and found it was slightly over 50 pounds. My husband got me the same one! They're great to have for peace of mind. I flew Lufthansa over spring break with a limit of 8 kg for carry-on, 22 kg for checked. I definitely used the scale. Came in at 7.8 kg for the carry-on and 12 kg for the checked. Rare Rogueperson Posted April 26 Author #119 Share Posted April 26 Good Morning from Virgin wants me off the ship 🤪 Its a glitch considering we’re over 1000 miles from Bermuda and still got two more sea days before our first stop i think. We lost an hour again. Its gonna hurt when i get it back. Still got 3 more to go. Last night’s dinner was Extra Virgin. I think this maybe my favorite but i still have Gumbae to try. Menu Shark Coochy Board. Its everything from the Affettati Misto selection. Chicken Liver Mousse. Totally decadent. Love this. Crispy Artichoke. Love this too. It took a little to figure out how to eat it. I had Beef Carpaccio too but missed the photo somehow. I’ll get it again, but surprisingly, I liked Royal’s Carpaccio better, especially the one in Chops. But its still good. Gnocchi. Texture is wrong. Too mushy but tasted good. New York Strip. This was also very tasty. Dessert Menu Tiramisu. Not on the menu. Amazing Chestnut Castagnaccio. This was the only ok thing.
Rare Rogueperson Posted April 26 Author #120 Share Posted April 26 Dinner took longer than expected. Mostly because we kept talking to our neighboring table. When we got out, we easily missed the show so we ended up at the Karaoke with the Happenings Cast. Happenings is pretty much the collective cruise director staff as they don’t have 1 specific cruise director. I left and went the Heartbeat party. Volume matters. Its MUCH louder in the Manor than Royal. But i think sound quality is just as important. This is inside the club. Nonetheless, the energy level is unheard of on other cruises. I was telling a friend that I missed this. I haven’t felt like this is many many years. This is my crowd. This is my music scene. Its got just the right amount of density.
Rare Rogueperson Posted April 26 Author #121 Share Posted April 26 Seriously funny interaction at the Galley. For my Royal fans who have not been on here, the Galley is essentially the Windjammer. Except that you can order from your seat and they bring it to you. I ordered the Thai Ramen and an al pastor taco. He tells me the taco place doesn’t open until noon. I say ok, don’t worry about it. Noon passes and i lift the flag up to order the tacos. He walks by and goes “tacos?”. 😂

My suggestion with the gnocchi dish (it is generally way over cooked), is to get the sauce from the gnocchi and have it put over a different pasta. That has worked out way better! Rare Rogueperson Posted April 26 Author #124 Share Posted April 26 I’m behind on my Bar Tab. I don’t normally drink. Royal Caribbean’s Diamond Plus benefits of 5 drinks a day us hard for me. Here, outside of Test Kitchen’s wine pairing, i haven’t drank much. As a result, I still have over $500 on my bar tab that they gave me. So here’s my start. Berry me at Sea. Here’s the menu here for boozy floats. Good price too. Wife had the Skinny Pie on the first day.
scaught Posted April 26 #125 Share Posted April 26 You just have to upgrade your drinks. A bottle of Moet is $95. Be a fancy RogueLad and drink champagne!
