Since I’m guessing you’ve watched ships on the harbor a lot, can you tell me which side of the ship will pass the Statue of Liberty? I’m assuming port side? I’m wondering where we should position ourselves for sail away. Leaving from Manhattan, I believe the Statue of Liberty is on the starboard side. If you go to an upper deck you can also watch as you go under the Verrazano Bridge.
rainmakerjjo Posted April 29 #52 Share Posted April 29 What are the parking alternatives for the Manhattan pier if parking is full? Trying to figure out best course coming from PHL area. Thanks

I prefer Gotham Parking at 550 W 45th St. We've been able to successfully negotiate a lower rate with the attendants when we get there.
Cruising Lynne Posted April 29 #54 Share Posted April 29 Thanks Radio for posting all the awesome pictures. We were on Joy last September and really enjoyed it. I watched you back away from the pier yesterday on the Port New York webcam. So exciting and I wished I was there. Have a great trip!

Rare Radio Posted April 30 Author #56 Share Posted April 30 Hello everyone and good day. Today was a very relaxing and restful day. After the Meet and Greet, I was able to have lunch in Garden Cafe' on DECK 16. There were many plentiful and delicious options at the buffet. The pool deck was very crowded, and it seemed like it was wall to wall passengers. It was such a nice day that many passengers took advantage of the good weather and sunshine. I had to "watch news" after lunch, and I was down hard for a couple of hours. The beds are very firm, but it suited me just fine. I was lucky enough to get invited to an Officers Reception in the Haven Lounge. I think I was invited there because I organized and and set up the Meet and Mingle Cruise Critic group. I loved the Haven area. It is beautiful and very relaxing. I had two cruises with Haven accommodations a few years ago and now I want to stay there for a future cruise. Here are some pics from today. Thanks for tuning in. Radio A sunny day and blue skies were enjoyed by many passengers. There are over 4,200 passengers so I'm bored this cruise. The Haven Horizon lounge is very nice. I love the private pool area. The Haven concierge lounge is very inviting. .

Rare Radio Posted April 30 Author #62 Share Posted April 30 Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 3 of LIVE from Norwegian Joy. I woke up this morning to warmer weather than the last 2 days. We are 24 hours from arriving in Bermuda, but I read that it was 90° back home. Yikes. I had a great dinner last night at La Cucina (DECK6). I enjoyed a Filetto Di Manso Al Pepe Verde. (Beef tenderloin) I also had Lasagne as my starter. The food was very good, but the service was =very= slow. We have a group Slot Pull this morning in the Joy Casino with over 70 participants. It should be a lot of fun. Hopefully we will win big. Here are a few pics from last night and this morning. Radio Joy Casino was busy last night The casino for smokers is in an enclosed Glass room. The Mix Bar is between Savor and Taste main dining rooms on DECK 6 This hot tub holds over 25 passengers in the Spice H2O area. Spice H2O is on 17 AFT The son is starting to come up this morning. Norwegian Joy rescue boat. I love to stop at Starbucks every morning on DECK 6 .

Rare Radio Posted April 30 Author #73 Share Posted April 30 Hello everyone, and good day. Today was another relaxing day at sea. I went to Savor (MDR) for breakfast this morning. It was OK, but I prefer the Local for breakfast much better. We had a Slot Pull in Joy Casino and had 46 players who entered for $20 each. After everyone had a chance to play, we ended with $16. We didn't win the Jackpot, but it was fun. Several passengers were very lucky, and I was glad that they played. It was a lot of fun cheering on the participants.Joy Casino offered a couple bottles of wine for our Slot Pull raffle. The pools.decks were crowded again today. And a passenger was complaining about too many passengers on deck. The mother suggested "If you don't like crowds then don't go on the cruise." Tonight I have The Wheel of Fortune Game Show and 80's Dance night. I can't stay up too late because tomorrow we will be docked by 8am at Heritage Wharf in Bermuda. Here are some pics from today. Radio Savor MDR Savor MDR 2 I love the Starbucks vending machine and in Garden Cafe Busy busy pool deck It was very warm today Everyone was very happy Thriller dance class in Atrium Our Slot Pull choice. 4 pulls at $5 each. . .
Always Cruising Posted May 1 #74 Share Posted May 1 From your dailies, it looks like there is only 1 performance (45 min) of country music each night at Q. When I was on the Joy last year, there were at least 3 performances each night.
