Brooklyn Port Pickup?

I dropped off family members at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal last weekend it was a very easy process to drive up and drop them off. I noticed signage on the way in concerning pickups and waiting in lots but didn't get a good glance at it since I was driving.

I know the ship is supposed to be docked around 6 and I imagine they'll grab a quick breakfast after vacating their cabin. I've sailed other lines but never MSC so I don't know how their disembarkation times work. Was the signage I noticed correct and there are areas where I'd be able to wait before I get notification they've disembarked and are ready for pickup, or am I better off finding somewhere else to wait?

Ask on the East Coast Departures board here, under North American Homeports.  Princess and Cunard also us the Brooklyn terminal.  EM
