Panama Canal Cruise

Could someone opine on why the April 2025 cruise has so few ports on their itinerary? We like sea days and wondered why.

Providing the itinerary will assist in proving an informed reply to your question. Any additional information on cancelled ports since the itinerary was first published will also help.

Is this the Neptune 18 day full transit from Ft Lauderdale to LA? We did this itinerary on the Star last October. Basically I think the answer is that these are effectively repositioning cruises. We were scheduled to have 6 ports: Cozumel, Cartagena, Colon, Puntarenas, Leon & Cabo. We didn't make it to either Colon or Leon, so we actually only had 4 ports. There was unrest in Colon the day we were there so they made a technical stop and cancelled all shore excursions. Leon gets cancelled all the time so I'm glad Viking took it off the itinerary because it was misleading to keep including it. Going through the canal is fascinating, but this cruise is indeed very heavy on sea days. Fortunately we had great speakers and entertainers onboard.
