trivia whereby I failed miserably even with biker’s help! 

I went to Chops right when they opened… with no lunch I was getting hangry, I worked hard for that 9oz filet! Great dinner tonight, everything was perfect. And I was done and out of there just as we were sailing away. I was out on the helipad for most of it.

I was up way too early.  I started the timelapse running, grabbed a coffee in the lounge and snapped a few photos.

 

 

 

 

 

This early there isn't much to see as we hadn't entered the fjord yet or where it narrows to become more interesting.

Eventually we got to the good stuff.  Waterfalls, more waterfalls and after that there were some waterfalls.

Finally we made it to the end of the fjord and Geiranger.

Excursion today is a Twizy.

 

It's an electric car that seats one and a half.  Okay it seats two, but in line with the passenger behind the driver.

I had the pleasure of @Hoopster95's company on this two hour adventure.

 

After some instructions and guidance when to stop and turn around they let us loose in the Twizy.  It had a GPS with a preloaded route and it talks at preset waypoints to give some local information. 

 

Our first overlook at the Queen's Bench was a bust.  The cloud layer was too low.  

 

 

You could sometimes see the ship, barely.

I'm guessing the Queen had better weather.

 

 

 

Back in the Twizy.

We were shown a picture of this stone bridge and advised that should be the extent of our outbound travel.  

 

 

 

 

 

The 360 camera shot makes the top of the bridge disappear.  This wasn't intentional. just the exact placement of the camera didn't catch any of the face of the bridge.  Cool effect.

The next overlook was above the Queen's Bench location and we could see it was clearing!

So it was back to the Queen's Bench...

We zoomed back down the mountain, through town and up the other road out of town to catch the view from the other side of town.

 

 

 

At the top we were definitely in the cloud layer so the views weren't so great but on the way up and back down we did get some clearing occasionally.

After we dropped the Twizy off we walked back up the road to some spots we saw but couldn't stop when driving.

We parted ways at the Visitor's center and I took the walk down the stairs along the river.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There were some hang gliders, or para-something jumpers circling overhead.

 

 

It was a very pleasant walk down along the river to a campground near the end of the fjord.

A local fisherman was very successful.

I found a restaurant and had a local IPA.

 

 

...and some Fish and Chips.

It doesn't look like it would take much more water to put it over the banks there, by the port !

After lunch I wandered through town to get a shot of the ship from the road we drove the Twizy up.

 

Speaking of a Twizy, some other Twizy-ers were coming back into town.

The Twizy was an amazing experience and we were very fortunate the weather cleared up as much as it did.  This was booked directly with a local tour company.

 

Here is some video from my 360 camera of the Twizy tour and subsequent walk along the river.

 

Geiranger is beautiful with a lot to do and see.
