Unintentional Notifications from Threads

I have noticed lately that if I reply to a topic, I am automatically set to receive pesky notifications in my email.  This has never been a problem before so here are the steps I found to work around it:

1. Post your reply.

2. Go to the top and click on the Follow box.

3. Change notifications to do not send notifications and click follow.

4. Click the follow box and click unfollow.

 

It is a pain but the only work around I have found.

 

Update, even if you just read the topic this happens.
