Mum2Mercury Posted May 22 #28 Share Posted May 22 22 hours ago, fred30 said: If the current price really is over 3 times what you paid you may want to try calling and see if they would be willing to give you back most of your deposit money. They would have a good chance of making more money putting the suite back in the mix than keeping your deposit and letting it be a no show. What's Royal's motivation to make a deal with you? They have your money. They have you over a barrel ... if you cancel, they get to keep your deposit, and someone else will snap up that room at the higher price. No, I wouldn't waste a phone call on this idea. 21 hours ago, steveru621 said: Why not re-schedule? Yes! Keep one reservation for this year, and reschedule the other for another week in the future. Perfect answer. 21 hours ago, nanseev said: There’s more to canceling the b2b - it’s partly money, but it’s also being gone two weeks and home responsibilities. Oh, yes. We're retired, so we don't have to concern ourselves with work any more, but being away from home does cost money ... for example, our dog kennel is $48/night, which certainly adds up for two weeks. pcur Posted May 22 #29 Share Posted May 22 I try not to cancel a cruise, but move the booking id and deposit over to the new cruise. Sometimes they charge me the $100 change fee, but sometimes not. Cancellation (before final payment date), involves a lot more steps, while moving the booking over to a new ship and date is pretty quick.
