Waitlisted for Dining Time

My DH and I are booked on QM2 - NY round trip to Canada this September.

I was going over the invoice and noted that we are waitlisted for Early Seating for dinner.

It has been awhile since we sailed on  aCunard ship, and policies change.

Has anyone experienced this waitlist situation?

Will we be notified before sailing about our dinner arrangements ?

Should we see the Maitre ‘D when we board the ship?

We do not like to dine late and I would not be pleased going to the buffet every night.

Hoping someone has insights for this situation.

I wouldn't worry, it usually gets sorted out. When you get to the stateroom there is a small piece of card with your confirmed dining arrangements, I suspect yours will confirm as the early sitting, but if not go to the restaurant concerned before the navigation safety drill (4pm or so) and they can sort it out there. 

 

There is the fallback of Open Dining, which will allow you to eat anytime between 6pm and 9pm (slight variations exist on this between different sailings).

It appears you are waitlisted for "Fixed' early dining, if this doesn't appeal to you you can always opt for 'Open' dining

Check the daily program when you embark to see when the maitre d' will be available to address situations like this.  It was 1:30 to 3:00 on our last voyage.
