dianeh Posted May 30 #1 Share Posted May 30 Sailing to NZ Jan 5/25 from Sydney. Realize there are 3 cruise terminals and wanting to book accommodations pre sail. Which terminal would the Westerdam be docked at or is it a 'wait and see'?
colbe Posted May 30 #2 Share Posted May 30 You are scheduled to be at White Bay Cruise Terminal. You are best to book a hotel in the city and take a taxi or rideshare to the dock in the morning. See page 16 of the port schedule. https://www.portauthoritynsw.com.au/cruise/sydney-cruise-schedule/

Bizziecruzer Posted June 2 #4 Share Posted June 2 White Bay is a distance from the city. You will go under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and past the Opera House as you sail away.
JohnCoffield Posted June 2 #5 Share Posted June 2 We sailed out of White Bay in Sydney on Noordam last year & sailing under the Sydney Harbour Bridge & past the Opera House is spectacular. We spent 3 nights pre cruise in a hotel at Darling Harbour which was a great base for exploring Sydney - everything is walkable from there & a very good & inexpensive tram system.
Rusty Scupper Posted June 2 #6 Share Posted June 2 If you take a taxi from a hotel, be sure to clearly specify what terminal you want, and have the driver repeat the destination back to you.
Rare 81Zoomie Posted June 3 #7 Share Posted June 3 There is a path that connects Darling Harbour to the Rocks and Sydney Harbour. It’s lovely to walk along the water if the weather is nice and you want to relax. Probably a mile+ or so. You can also take public transit, the HoHo, or Uber. Blackduck59 Posted June 3 #8 Share Posted June 3 I think the headline is a little broad and unfortunately misleading. While for the OP's cruise Westerdam is scheduled to be at Whitebay, that is not where she will always be. For our Westerdam cruise, later in the 2025 season she will be at OPT. So for the cruise in question they will get the transit under the Bridge, for us later in the year we won't.

It mainly depends whether there is a larger ship in the harbour as many of them do not fit under the Bridge. If no other ship is scheduled for the OPT then it’s likely the HAL ships will berth there.
