Ice Cream Sandwich

A debate for many years concerns the definition of a sandwich.Some people say that only meat or cheese in between two slices of bread should be referred to as a sandwich.Others say anything between two slices of bread is a sandwich .

 

I favor the latter .Any other opinions ?

Anything between two slices of bread is a sandwich. Like my fairly regular jam sandwich snack. Or my partner's crisp sandwich. 

 

By the by, we recently had an ice cream sandwich served as dessert at a local place. It wasnt a success. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they used a house made wafer instead of bread. It had no texture and the semi-freddo (not ice cream) had little flavour.

I've never met anyone who would say that peanut butter and jelly on white was not a sandwich.  Or egg salad on a croissant or even just tomato and mayo.
