New Orleans cruise terminal--hot mess embarking?

We sailed NCL out of NO in 2019. 

Embarkation was a HOT MESS...

Is it always like that?

Hoping it was a one off...

The terminal is small, the access road is too tight, (especially with 2 ships in), and the passengers leaving have to cross over the passengers arriving.  It's rough.

 

I don't know if NCL gives good instructions, such as don't expect to drop your luggage off and go park like in other ports.  You should go to the garage, and use the garage shuttle with all your luggage.  Drop and park creates awful congestion. I was on the repo of Breakaway from NYC to NO and it was the first time a ship that big was there.  oh boy.
