Possible Tender in Sydney

Our itinerary says possible tender in Sydney on 27th September.  I was not bothered initially as we have been docked on our two previous calls there.  However this time we are not alone in port, so wondering if the two ships can dock, or if one will be at anchor.  If one at anchor, does anyone know if we can find out which one - the port site just gives the port address for both ships?

Our ship (P&O's Arcadia) is 290m in length, whilst the other ship (Seven Seas Grandeur) is 224m, according to the port site.

According the official port schedule https://www.sydneyport.ca/_files/ugd/941752_0e2b50e8e21743e69c34dbcd6c29d68d.pdf the Arcadia is at Main Dock while the Seven Sea Grandeur is at Liberty Pier. Sydney docks can handle two ships. If there is a third (or fourth) ship the port schedule will say Anchor (A or B). Of course, docking assignments can change anytime.

Thanks a lot for that.  I had found a cruise schedule which did not mention much, but have now seen there was a pdf which could be downloaded at the top of the list on that schedule.  Looks good then, with us docked by the Big Fiddle, where we have been previously.

  • 2 weeks later...

Several years ago, on our first NE/Canada cruise, we anchored in Sydney, while two other ships were docked.  Our Captain explained that the largest ships will get the docks.

  • Thanks 1
