Small boat race from Victoria to

Recommended Posts

There’s a small boat race from Victoria to Ketchikan on Jun 12 going up the inside passage.  There looks to be at least 20 teams competing for a $10kUSD prize.  Non motorized craft only,  if you’re heading to Alaska this week keep an eye out!

Thanks for the update,  i suppose first place is already decided as it’s Tuesday morning now.  Congratulations to the winner and good luck to all still racing !

Coastal BC has had really bad weather since last Friday: rain, wind and unseasonably cold coming down from Alaska .  It’s warming up now so the remaining boats may have a slightly easier time.

From the Ketchikan Daily News:  "The Race to Alaska's first-place winning team Malolo crossed the finish line at 2:37 p.m. Monday at Thomas Basin, and were greeted by more than two dozen fans of the 750-mile engineless race from Port Townsend, Washington to Ketchikan."
