Biometrics for US Customs and Border Protection

For those of you who have embarked in Vancouver the past week or so, have they used this system?  Did it speed up things for you?

It was used for our June 1 embarkation,  yes it does seem to speed things up, at least for us with only 2 ships that day. We arrived at the port at 11:30 and were in our cabin at 12:10. Amazingly painless for Vancouver .

That is amazing for Vancouver. I hope the trend continues as that's a game changer for AK cruises. DH has all but threatened divorce if he has to endure the fiasco that is embarking in Vancouver.

@Haljo1935, Vancouver still has it's issues and have read that 3 ship days are still bad at times since all  have to go through the same choke points of security and CBP. The terminal has a lot of walking and changing different levels with few escalators/elevators which makes it worse. Yes, we have endured some nightmares there! but they have streamlined the process better.

The article only mentions Alaskan cruises, but hopefully we will benefit from this technology later this year for our Hawaiian cruise.
