Rare Keith1010 Posted July 31 #1 Share Posted July 31 And it wasn't when Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play. Rather, one year ago along with some of you Anne Marie and I returned sailed on the inaugural of Crystal Serenity under the new ownership. It was a great day. It was a great set of back to back cruises. I remember as we made our way into the port of Marseille when we first saw Crystal Serenity. It was an emotional day and all good. The last time we saw Serenity was in November of 2021 and we all know what happened a couple of months after that. As we walked up the gangway and saw the first of many crew members, it brought tears to our eyes and smiles to our lips. Go figure. Throughout that day and the next few days we saw crew and Crystal Society members who we knew for quite sometime. We had our first meal at Waterside and yes, Cobb Salad and flutes of Champagne. That first night we dined at Osteria and later watched the fireworks. IMG_2318 (1).mov On the second night there was a special gala and then dinner at Waterside. The ports on those two cruise were great. It included ports we had been to before and some for the very first time. Great weather as it was not as hot as it can be. Soon after we departed Bordeaux we sailed under the bridge. A view of Serenity in Monte Carlo. I had to take the photo with the sum directly in front of me. As many of you know, I always believed Crystal would return and that Crystal would be very much like old Crystal. I didn't want Crystal to be the Royal Viking. In other words, our first several years of sailing Crystal guests would tell us about those good old days of Royal Viking. Although we heard of the line we knew nothing of it. I didn't want us to be telling others about this line that used to exist called Crystal. Happy Crystal Cruising. Cheers, Keith
