Elite Casino Offer questions

 Share

Recommended Posts

 Hi Everyone,

I have taken a premier cruise offer in the past but, never have taken the elite one. Will there be a cocktail party when you arrive on board? will there be treats and gifts dropped off at your cabin? How does the reimbursement for parking and booking the free excursion go?

Any experience would be appreciated and helpful tips.

Will be going on Firenze November 9th.out of Long Beach

Thanks

Based on memory;

1.  A welcome aboard drink awaits you in your cabin.  There may have been a cocktail party, but I would’ve skipped it.

2.  Treats and gifts dropped off in the cabin? Yes.

3.  If you park at the pier, there will be Credit on your account to reimburse you for the parking. It was seamless.

4.  The “short excursion with your casino host“ was not.  I was told to go to the excursion desk and book whatever shore excursion I wanted, with a maximum cost of $100 pp or so. They reimbursed me on my Sail and Sign account.  Seamless.

5.   You are platinum for the cruise, including priority boarding and tenders to shore.  The staff took very good care of the elite passengers, but the Casino was very crowded and smoky. I don’t remember your ship‘s floorplans, and whether there is a “no smoking“ casino on it.

Enjoy!

In my experience only -

* Never received welcome drink, but welcome gift along with gifts/treats most days. With DOU, this is unnecessary.

* I don't notice the casino being any more crowded than other cruises.  Elite offers are only for a small number of people sailing (I heard it was 150 cabins or less).  Elite events are at 11pm most nights and only for Elite and their guests.  Regular casino promotions (hot seat, fireball) are open to all cruisers.

* Yes to cocktail party.  It's drinks and snacks and they do a few giveaways

* Had to go to casino desk to get reimbursed for parking, but still very seamless. We recently used the car service benefit and will exercise that whenever possible.

* About 3 weeks before your cruise, you will receive an email asking for your alcohol choices for your cabin and your shore excursion/spa credit preference.  On our Western Carribean cruise, the Elite excursion was in Mahogany Bay to Turquoise Bay Resort, All inclusive for the day.  Aside from the transportation, it was an excellent excursion.  On our recent Alaska cruise, we did not choose to do the Elite excursion because we had prebooked everything we wanted to do.  Switched to spa credit and had a couples massage.  It was fantastic!

*Elite will spoil you.  We are no longer booking on regular offers, even those with more free play because we feel like the Elite benefits outweigh the fun play.  YMMV. Now if we get those $2500 fun play offers we would reconsider 🙂

Thank you,

I didn't know you also get Social Wifi package.and Room charge fees. Does that mean you can order Wings and other things off the pay room charge menu?

Thanks

Yes to Wi-Fi. We upgrade it to the premium but it’s still discounted.

yes to room service. And there was a previous thread question about sodas. The person I spoke with on the phone when ordering (you have to call) offered to bring us sodas and water. We did get sodas through room service but we were good with water at the time. I order a water every time I order a drink and carry a purse that I shove about 4 into to bring back to the room so we are always stocked.

Did you upgrade to premium when you were on the ship?  Also, do you remember how much the upgrade was?  TIA!  This is my first Elite.

Do you get 2 plans or does your guest have to purchase one.

Thanks

** Benefits are good for you and a travel companion (assigned to the same room)

Both the Elite guest and the cabin mate get the Social Plan as part of the Elite perks.  In my opinion, as someone who does not do social media, the Social Plan is worthless.

Either one can upgrade for himself.  The other does not need to upgrade, but is allowed to.

I am assuming one Elite and one companion.  I don't know about a third passenger in the cabin.
