Why do i feel like I do after i resolve an argument with my wife.....

but in this case, I dont get to have make-up s_x.

Oh I bet you can! You will just have to explain it to her this way...

you- "honey, we need to have make up sex... yeah baby"

her- "what? we have not had a fight? roll back over and leave me alone"

you- "I had an argument with someone on a cruise message board today, and we made up, and well I can't have sex with her... I mean, you wouldn't want me to would you honey??? So of course it has to be with you... I mean, unless you want to to have it with her?? You surely don't want that... so come to papa :D "

Now this is a real power horror story we will never forget! A few summers ago we drove 10 hours, with two small childrwn to Canada to visit Niagra Falls. It was my first and only trip. Just as we arrived all power was lost.

* No traffic lights= mass confusion

* No computers in hotel=two rooms on different floors

* Restaurants couldn't prepare food

OK, that did it.

Chris, it was a Sony Vaio, but a Toshiba or IBM thinkpad will do.

Wait, you missed your tour that you booked through Carnival, due to the ship being late and they didn't reimburse you? I was never able to get an answer out of the other lady on this board. What reason did they give you?

No, sorry if what I wrote was confusing. Carnival did refund what we paid for the original excursion we booked thru them (a ferry boat tour thru the canal which quite frankly was one of the main reasons we booked this particular cruise). However we were then left to scramble and book something else along with the several hundred others trying to do the same (since there are very limited independent options in Panama). Quite frankly it was mass confusion with everyone trying to get their refund and rebook something else in a very short timeframe - with a huge line wrapped around the lobby.

My beef is they were not orgainzed in how they handled this and after already missing one port, should have provided some discount on an alternative tour to those who booked the canal trip that was cancelled (especially since for many people this was to be a cruise highlight). In the end, we ended up paying $89 each for a very overpriced bus 1hr 45 minute bus trip from Colon to Panama City for a city tour and then back again. And to make matters worse, the local lunch at a restaurant that was supposed to be part of this was changed due to time - to poor excuse for a box lunch. the only saving grace was a stop at the Gatun locks on the way back to see part of the canal. However, if Carnival had seen fit to charge say half price for this excursion for those who's canal trip was cancelled, I would feel less taken and better about the whole affair

I don't know what posts were deleted from this thread that I see folks alluding to, but I certainly wouldn't expect a refund for the cruise itself - but after missing one port (Costa Maya) and giving a measly $25 for that, to not do anything else for those who missed their big excursion in Panama was poor form IMO on Carnival's part

BTW - I should note that this was our 7th or 8th cruise and we cruise as a means to an end. For us, the ports are the destination, not the ship. So screwing up 2 of 3 ports on an 8 day cruise is disconcerting. I understand for others the ship is the destination and they really are not bothered of ports are missed or excursions cancelled. I can respect their position and hopefully they can respect mine - as everyone has different desires

Yes, all that IS an option..... but I'll wait and see if I get a counter offer from Jerseygirl :)

If you think you somehow have a constitutional right to post on this or any other message board, wrong.

I still say she was not the first to attack other posters but the other way around.

You need to seriously think about taking a chill pill. You are way out of control lately.

Would you seriously fly into a panic like that when faced with a simple power outage? Seems like that sort of behavior would do more harm than good if there isn't a true emergency.

OK, I've been all day & missed all the posts. I'm sorry if it sounded like I would panic. After raising my kids (they were real rough & tumble accident prone kinda kids), for the past 32 years, I don't panic about anything anymore. Actually I was just joking around on my post.

In February of '03, the Holiday had a total power loss. It was explained later in a compensation letter we recieved that a sensor which monitors explosive gases in the engine rooms malfunctioned and shut down every power source on the ship. We were told that there was never any danger, but that it was fortunate that the bad sensor was discovered, because of what COULD have happened if there HAD been a build up of gasses. The bad part was that we were sailing down the Mississippi River at the time and drifted into a mud bank. After the power was restored (about 20 minutes) the ship managed to pull itself out of the mud, but we had to wait 10 hours for the USCG and Lloyds to come pronounce the ship as seaworthy. A WHOLE lot more went wrong on this cruise, but it was still a great time!!

I When the power was out, they were still able to serve drinks. There was a guy in the casino bar wearing his life jacket! I laughed so hard. Carnival didn't like this one bit and made him take it off. What a great time.

OMG I can't stop laughing at this! All night.... My stomach is sore from this post! Stop Stop! You're killing me!

Okay, I was on this cruise. Missed Costa Mya. This was bad we really wanted to go there. $25 for missing it, okay i can deal with it. Still wasnt happy. 4 Days on Board ready to get off ship. Now if we missed a day stop why didnt we get to Costa Rica sooner? hmm, front desk said they have to book the time there. Costa Rica Harbor Master said we need the boats and had none in and we could have docked and spent the night there but that carnival didnt want to spend the extra money to dock for another day. Dont know how true that is but hey, sounded good to me and he had no reason to lie. Charlie Soto rocked. great tour. Now Power outage, Well I had an inside room,Like the dark. Wife slept through most until the room got too hot. Went up to Lido deck where it was cooler, talked to some really cool people and had a nice time, Some things to note. Left side engine never came back on line, ever notice the shaking onboard after the power outage, 1 engine pushing the boat harder. I asked several crew members and thats what i got told. with only 1 engine it had to work hard to push us along to get back in time. We were on the 8th fllor and could smell a stong order comming from the elevators. did not smell smoke or fire but something smelled strong. oil or fuel like. If anyone looked up at the smoke stack the left side never put out as much as the right side after the power outage. My favorite was CD telling everyone that everything is okay while all you can hear is alarms sounding behind him. I got a kick out of that. This was not the best cruise i have been on or the worse. I think this ship rocked alot and did not cruise a smooth as others i have been on. Also i did find some staff RUDE, if i dont order a drink during dinner cause i dont drink dont roll your eyes at me! My wife did take a slip and fall around the pool area cause of all the water splshing out of the pool. BTW I did read that the back pool was adult only. I have kids and if I want to see them and play with them i would have brought them with me. I didnt like this. Food on this ship was very good Harry's was great. except for the loud party that was sitting next to us, also isnt Harry's formal? Well I said my Bit, I hope I dont get flamed too much. All in all Carni did a OKAY job.

The Holiday has lots of history. Has also run aground in Cozumel.

Once they turned the water off the whole freakin day in Cozumel to fix something. And then the crap that came out of the faucet and shower when they finally turned it back on. Not a chance I'll drink that.

The Poop Name List

LMAO

This thread has be a source of entertainment for my tonight (and I still haven't made it to the end). There were posts about every conceivable thing and I'm thourougly confused. From what I gather the power was off for 2 1/2 hours and someone couldn't go pee and got all jazzy. Someone out there is looking for their *****. May I suggest Versed, it's a wonderful little drug that makes you forget everything. Maybe the poster that didn't want to be related to Aunty Pam anymore could take some too and forget about their little spat. Then comes the poop list and tears are popping out of my eyes cuz I'm laughing so much. The DH thinks I've gone crazy (maybe I have  ). OK I guess since I've stopped laughing I can go back and finish reading.

And since she was in a wheelchair it was even worse. But whatever sympathy I might have had for her I lost when she deigned to determine who could or could not post on a public message board.

Bottom line. If she really had to go that bad she or someone in her party would have found a way to get her there. Where there's a will there's a way and all that crap.

Did you SEE that port? Puerto Limon, Costa Rica??? Why would you have wanted to be there the night before? Then they would have had to close the casinos, and people would have tried to get off the ship, with no where to go.. It didn't look all that safe to me. I think it was better to take a little longer (either by going slower or going a little out of the way) so we could stay at sea until Wednesday morning and arrive on schedule.

Charlie Soto rocked. great tour.

Agree. We used Charlie too. In fact, He was our driver for the day. (group of 8). Zip line, Tortugeuero Canal, Local Restaurant on the beach, driving tour, supermarket.. Thank you Charlie....

I didn't notice the shaking..... Not sure if its true that one engine was out... We were going 22 knots for about 24 hours after leaving Panama.... That's pretty fast...

Food on this ship was very good Harry's was great. except for the loud party that was sitting next to us, also isnt Harry's formal?

The invitation we got in the room for our Harry's reservation said the dress code was "smart casual". So, no - the dress code is not formal.

As for the loud party sitting next to you, that may have been us. Sorry. the 8 of us were having a great time. Lots of wine and laughing.
