Wink87 Posted August 11 #1 Share Posted August 11 I booked OS E729 for an upcoming Alaska cruise. DH is whining that he won't like the aft view as he wants to see where he is heading and that whales are off the side of the ship, not the back.😆 I told him the deck wraps around and he can stand in that area to see what is coming and look for whales on that side of the ship. This will be our 8th cruise to Alaska so he is no newbie and certainly knows how to spot wildlife from the ship. Would any of you aft lovers like to chime in with some encouragement I can share with him? TYIA

memoak Posted August 12 #3 Share Posted August 12 We have on the Discovery and Royal in aft suites but not in Emerald Deck. On Dolphin and Riviera decks the balconies were huge, partially covered and wrap around. We sail aft on every cruise and these were some of the best ever. You will not be disappointed

esad9556 Posted August 12 #5 Share Posted August 12 I have had a preference for Princess aft cabins for over 45 years as the engine vibration tends to rock me to sleep. The aft facing balcony’s are more protected from the wind when the ship is underway and I find more useable under adverse climatic conditions. We normally book aft facing penthouse suits as we find the view of the wildlife coming up is the same as the view of the wildlife going away.😉 Hope you and your DH have a great cruise. Crown Cruiser Posted August 12 #6 Share Posted August 12 We have stayed in E728 many times on Enchanted Princess. Please let your husband know that the wraparound will definitely allow him to see the sides of the ship as well as look to the forward end of the ship. You also get the benefit of the aft wake which is great. The overhang is small (much larger on Riviera, Baja, or Dolphin) but your cabin is Hugh (much bigger than any of the other aft suites). Have a wonderful time!
