Upgrade to Balcony from OV for Aug/Sept Inside Passage?

Hi, my daughter and I have booked an OV cabin on the NCL Sun for a 10 day from Seattle starting end of August (8/30).  I'm wondering if we should try to upgrade for a balcony cabin.  I do not like the cold so I can't see myself sitting outside if its less than 55-60 degrees.  I'm happy to sit in the observation area.  On the other hand, I love a cocktail on the balcony (or coffee but is that even a possibility that time of year) and the extra space would be nice.  Convince me one way or the other?

I would post this on the NCL board where they are very familiar with the Sun and its features.

Personally I much prefer enjoying the beauty of Alaska from my own balcony over a crowded public space. The NCL observation lounge is nice, but a mob scene on scenic cruising days where people camp out for hours for the prime front seating. No thank you!

Also, I prefer to view from an outside vantage to really take in the full experience - all the sights, sounds, and view. You just don’t get the same experience sitting inside looking through a window.

I don’t mind the cold - I simply put on the needed outerwear and enjoy. My choice is always a balcony in Alaska.
