Ward cove shuttle

Never been on NCL before and just booked last minute cruise. We have tour with Wild Wolf from 8 to 10 and they pick up at Ward cove. Norwegian Sun leaves at 1. Is there a shuttle to ward cove? If so, where pick up and what time need to be on by? Just want to walk creek street and wander a bit before we head back to the ship.

If you’re on NCL you’ll be docked in Ward Cove, not in Ketchikan.

You need to be on the shuttle no later than 11:15 - 11:30 and that is pushing it.

As mentioned, NCL docks at Ward Cove.

 

You’ll meet your excursion at the dock, right off the ship. On the downside, you’ll also be returned to Ward Cove at the end of the excursion. 
 

So if you want to see Ketchikan proper, you need to catch the shuttle from Ward Cove after your excursion. It runs frequently, but lines can be long - especially there early in the day and back late in the day.

 

For you, WC->Ketchican shoud be quick since you’ll miss the rush with your excursion. But you’ll still have limited time in town with the 1pm departure.

 

Do not wait for the very last shuttle back to Ward Cove. Get there a shuttle or two early because the lines may be long and the ship will pull the gangway up at the listed time unless there are NCL-sold excursions still in progress. They won’t wait long even if they know there are people in town waiting for the shuttle.

Thanks. This is good information. We will take your advice if we stay in town. We may just go back to the ship after since we both have been to Ketchikan before.

Since you have booked a private tour with Wild Wolf, you could ask if they could drop you in town at the end of the tour instead of back at Ward Cove. Then you would have a little over an hour to walk around town before needing to get in line for the shuttle service.
