Rare westcoasttech Posted October 17 #1 Share Posted October 17 Not sure if anyone has posted this information yet ... feel free to cross post into Alaska forum, if you feel it fits! I know the Alaska season has just about wrapped up for this year, but would presume these prices will run for next year too, so will provide the information for those over-planners on the boards! The set taxi rates FROM Vancouver airport (YVR) have increased as of October 11, 2024. These are set rates FROM the airport to Vancouver destinations only, rates TO the airport are normally "on the meter" [in my experience!]. Also in my experience, Lyft/Uber can be a little cheaper (depending on the surge pricing for day/time), with Lyft being a little less than Uber (but sometimes with a bit more of a wait) ... I usually check the pricing in both apps and see what the prices and wait times are. [Hint: if using taxis make sure you know what the pricing "should" be ... even as a local I've had drivers try and charge me for the next pricing zone over!] 1
d9704011 Posted October 17 #2 Share Posted October 17 A great PSA. Any idea why somebody would pay $24 to take a taxi in the Sea Island zone?

Kate45 Posted Saturday at 08:16 PM #4 Share Posted Saturday at 08:16 PM This is great information for someone who knows Vancouver and the locations of the airport and cruiseport. My family and I know nothing and would like to know: how long of a drive is it? Cab fare as Uber and lyft are not an option for us. Are there plenty of taxis? I'm assuming it will be cheaper to take a cab than the $46 per person the cruiseline wants. There are 7 of usso thinking we will need 2 cabs. Thanks

Thanks Presumably you want to make your way from the aiport to the cruise terminal (or nearby)? If that's the case, you want to go to the Canada Place/Downtown area indicated on the map - $46 per taxi. Lots of taxis at the airport and the ride ought to take less than half an hour.
