Carribean Princess 2025

I am planning a family cruise in late March 2025. We will be traveling from Canada flying in to Orlando the day before. Any recommendations for hotels near the cruise port (Port Canaveral) and best way to travel from the airport to hotel and back to the airport? We will be traveling with a 1 year old and I am not sure about car seat laws and availability in Florida.  Also any tips or highlights on the Carribean Princess?

This is not a question regarding Canadian cruisers, but rather port of Canaveral.  You might get more relevant answers in the specific port of call.  But flying into Orlando, some people do rent a car, and can stay at Orlando (lots of choices) or Port Canaveral (much fewer choices) or somewhere in-between.  You can rent car seats from the car rental companies.  There are also shuttles in-between, as there are lots of cruisers facing the same logistics.

Thanks for the great advice. Much appreciated ☺️

Hello @GUSANDPEDRO and welcome back to the Cruise Critic website & message boards! I see it has been quite a while since you have posted.

To help you out, your new thread has been moved to the North American Homeports - East Coast Departures - Florida Departures forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that live there or have sailed from/to there frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles in this forum looking for threads of interest. You may find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you. Also, your thread will be helpful for other members seeking the same information.

As for researching the Caribbean Princess, go to our Princess Cruises forum. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed on Caribbean Princess frequent that forum and provide the type of feedback you are looking for there. Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list of the various forums. I suggest you put the page link in your browser's Favorites for quick & easy access in the future. Please read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there.

If you need information on how to do it, please click here: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info) and here: How To: Change Email Settings/Unsubscribe: Notification Settings

Since it appears you have booked on a Caribbean Princess cruise, be sure to see if there is an existing Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your specific ship and sail date. Please click What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll CallFor more information about our famous Roll Calls, please click the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships.

Use the Roll Call Finder Tool at the top of the Caribbean Princess Roll Calls forum to see if there is an existing Roll Call thread for your specific sail date. If not, feel free to start one! Just follow the directions in How To: Create A New Roll Call, especially how they are to be titled. And don't worry about any responsibilities in starting a Cruise Critic Roll Call thread. Our Roll Calls belong to all members sailing that cruise; there is no designated leader or owner. It does not matter who started the thread. Our Roll Calls are for Cruise Critic members sailing on the same cruise. They get to know one another online before their cruise so there will be all kinds of discussion in the Roll Call thread for their cruise!

If one already exists, click the Roll Call title to open the thread and read through the posts to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Then use the dark blue Reply to this topic button to post an introductory post about yourself. I feel sure your fellow Cruise Critic members will welcome you with replies. The specific Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date is the ONLY place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members may post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions or transportation with each other. There is a "captive audience" there since you are all sailing together! Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that may have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, they may have already posted share requests that may interest you.

If you ever need technical help in regard to using the Cruise Critic message board software, click Need Help Using the Forums? A car seat is definitely required in Florida.  You can bring the child's car seat on the airplane, either check it or gate-check it.  That's what my 2 granddaughters do when traveling with their children.   Airlines don't charge luggage fees for baby equipment.   Are they bringing a pack N play?

As to whether you stay near airport or near the cruise port might depend on the time you will arrive in Orlando.  I would guess if you arrive in the late afternoon/evening you might want to stay near the airport and get a shuttle to ship in the late morning.  On the other hand if you arrive around noon, you might want everyone to stay near the port.   I am sure there are various shuttle services that you can book.   Just keep searching through the "Florida Departures" section!   .
