JoeO Posted April 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2006 Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with "Accessible" cabins on Carnival Miricle? Their brochures use the phrase "staterooms are modified for wheelchair users." Are they regular sized rooms with roll-in bathroom/shower capability or are the rooms larger as on Princess/Royal Carib./Celebrity? Can one do a "Wheelie" in the cabins or constantly be doing broken U-turns? Thanks for any insight. Joe O
Umbarger Posted April 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2006 Carnival Spirit Class HC cabins are not any larger than regular cabins. They have less furniture (no sofa) in the cabin, so they may appear more roomy. The door to the cabin is wider to allow a wheelchair, walker, etc. The entrance to the bathroom is also wider and has no step. The bathroom is larger than a regular cabin bathroom and the shower has a build in seat. When you have a shower...... beware......... the entire bathroom will flood. The HC cabin was doable............. but sorry.............you won't be popping any wheelies. :D Have a great cruise. Linda
DEL67 Posted April 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2006 We were on the Carnival Spirit a few years ago. Although our HC cabin was not as large as some we have had on other lines on some other lines, it definitely was larger than a standard inside cabin. He could access the side of the bed closest to the door easily; however he could not access the far side of the bed or the closet on that side. There was enough space for my husband to access the bed and the bathroom was was well equipped and big enough to turn around in.

JoeO Posted April 17, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Thx everyone for your responses. Splinter....That's the first thing I did. I needed to get firsthand insight from handycapped people who have cruised in those facilities to see how tight they actually were. Joe O

DEL67 Posted June 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2006 Yes, it is larger. It is a roll-in shower with a pull down seat.
