LorettaD Posted April 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2006 We will be in Tortola on the dawn with our 26 month old son and are wondering what we can do?? Are there any fun things for kids?? If not can anyone recommend a nice beach that is kid friendly?? We went to the bath's last time we were there and want to do something different this time around. Thanks, Loretta
RONNIENJ4 Posted April 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2006 Loretta: I was wondering the same thing. We are going to try Brewer's Bay Beach. We did the Bath's the last time also. Let me know what you end up doing and have fun.
Pyrate13 Posted April 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2006 You'll find more to do at Cane Garden Bay and it seems most folks from the cruise ships go there so there is more likelyhood of your children finding others to play with. Often there are local children playing there as well. Keep an eye out for dingies coming and going from the charter boats that anchor in the bay, most will head for the dock in front of Quito's but occasionally one will pull up on the beach. There are a number of places to eat and shop. Brewer's is nice but usually quieter and it is rare to see a charter boat there as most of the charter companies red line it (off limits) due to the reefs. Nicole's Beach bar is the only permanant food and drink place on the beach. It is located at the far west end of the beach. Smuggler's Cove is very pretty and also quieter then CGB. Locals will set up small "shops" with some clothes and other goods as well as drinks and snacks. I understand the beach bar at the abandoned hotel is once again operating too. The road to get there is very rough at times and you will feel like you are heading into the middle of nowhere. Mind you with both of these beaches, quieter, is relative to the number of cruise ships in town and how many folks opt to go to these.
cjh Posted April 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2006 You can just walk into town where they have several little shops and chickens that run around the shops that will keep a child entertained it did mine.
