CCL Stock Credit

Recommended Posts

We own 100 shares of CCL stock and are booked on CCL Conquest in Nov. We are trying to get our $100 stock credit through our travel agent and being told this credit is not combinable with a past guest cruise fare that we paid. I've never had this problem before. I know the stock credit is not combinable with any other ship board credits, but have never been denied the credit because we paid a past guest fare.

Anyone have any light to shed on this?

I think your TA is wrong, but I wouldn't deal with your TA. On my last CCL cruise I had booked through a TA and used past guest discount, but still sent my stock information direct to CCL myself. I did receive the credit. Be sure to have the fare paid in full before sending the information.

Don't mean to ask a dumb question, but why does it matter whether the fare is paid in full or not before I get the stock credit?

Do you know the phone number of who to contact directly at CCL to receive our credit?

Thanks!

Not sure. It's CCL's rule though. I could have asked for the credits on the two future cruises I had booked when I sent the info for last months cruise, but they won't issue credit until fare is paid. So I'll just send it again closer to departure.

You'll need to fax the information. I found fax number by doing a search on these boards. It's also on the CCL website-d/l the corporate report.

If you're booked with a TA, CCL will not deal directly with you.

Does one need a minimum of 100 shares to get the credit ?

Thread Hijack:

Hey Snoozeman I didn't get around to responding the other day, but I got my screen name from my Danish heritage. I live on the farm my great grandfather homesteaded in 1885. I think the Viking in me is why I love cruising.:D

Contact Investor Relations at Carnival Corp. in Miami. If you go to the Carnival website, get the phone number and then call. The shipboard credit is exactly that. It is applied to your Sign and Sail card. We have received numerouse discounts by careful booking, and no matter how much we save, as stockholders we have always received the stockholder credit. It has nothing to do with the price you pay for the cruise. It is a benefit of being a stockholder. I faxed a copy of our stock statement along with a letter to investor relations, with our booking and cabin #. Each time I have received verbal confirmation of the credit and received the credit once on board. The fax number I have is 305-406-5882.

Yes 100 is the minimum. Must be my Viking blood as well. I do love to cruise. Great screen name. :)

NOT TRUE, Did you miss my post. I booked with a TA and faxed my information directly to CCL. They issued the credit. TA was never envolved.

Pardon my dumb question.

How does the stock credit work? So far I gather one needs to own a min. 100 shares of CCL. It's just under US$50 now. So if buying 100 shares it'll be close to US$5,000. If I can get $100 off each booking, I suppose that's worth some consideration.

How long do I have to hold the stock, and from which date? For example, do I have to own them at the time of booking (which means I need to buy stocks first then book), or is it by the time I am paying the balance?

Or is there a web site somewhere explaining the details?

Thanks a lot.

The $100 ship credit from CCL IS combinable--you should definitely get both.;)

I was recently sent the latest CCL documents saying that the stock holder credit is not combinable with any other ship board credit.

This is the address and/or fax number that I have used numerous times. I have never had a problem receiving the credit, but I handle it myself, do not go through your travel agent.

Combinable with the past guest rate not a credit. Should be combinable the way I read it on page seven of the corporate report. It excludes discounted fares to employees, travel agents, etc. but not past guests. If the past guest benefit where an onboard credit then I would agree, but it's a fare reduction so should be OK. At least that's what I believe it to read and what I have received in the very recent past.

The catch all is

or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate

I sail on Hal and have always received the CCL stock credit except for one time.

I always book at reduced rates and have received some great deals and still got the credit.

The one time I did not, it was a last minute cruise and the price was hard to believe since it was so low. It was turned down because of the very low price I was paying for the cruise.

One other time I read about someone not receiving because of a very low fare.

Your rate doesn't sound like a super reduction. I think it should be accepted. Maybe your TA should try dealing with someone else at Carnvial.

Is there a Ship Services dept on Carnival ? Many people on the Hal board fax everything themselves to Ship Services. I always had the TA handle it.

I wouldn't give up. Good Luck :)

Strange - says page four when I download it (of course I am referring to the real page number and not some adobe page count):

4 Carnival Corporation & plc

I'm referring to pdf page number and not printed page number. (I don't use Adobe) I did go back and compare, It's the same wording as in previous years.

Also thanks for the help last year. It was your information that I used to get my credit. Worked just fine for me.

BTW-Terry I use Preview to read pdf's--It's great, you get a little copy of each page next to the main page. It's great for large pdf documents such as the corporate reports. Adobe may do this now as well, don't know, but I can make better use of pdf files. Then again, I'm a mac guy!:)

Guys, does CCL provide a link on their website for purchase shares directly or do I have to go on ETrade to make the purchase?

I think you have to make your initial purchase through a broker. E*Trade or Scottrade (my choice) or some other. This is common for all DRIP accounts. You could then make additional purchases through the CCL stock agent. It's really just easier to purchase and keep it with a broker.
