Budget Queen Posted April 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2006 This is a very tame kayak trip on a lake. Check the weather and bring rain gear if necessary- they do go out in the rain. Bring an extra pair of socks, nothing worse than wet socks. :)

Budget Queen Posted April 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2006 If it is a small backpack, you do have a little room by your feet. I've also seen some people just wearing the back pack while kayaking. This isn't the place to over pack.

Budget Queen Posted April 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2006 suggestion for shoes? Water shoes okay? or just tennis shoes? If you mean those beach shoes you wear in the water??? Those are too cold for Alaska. Hopefully you have some water resistant footwear? As a suggestion, take what you have and give them a couple sprays of waterproofing- available at Walmart. sea_u_onboard Posted April 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2006 What about a "fanny pack"? It can be adjusted higher on the body and would make a great place for cameras. It is possible? Just a thought.
