victory2020 Posted May 11, 2006 #76 Share Posted May 11, 2006 They took out most of my fav appetizers and replaced them with icky seafood. Lovely. And no more vegetable princess :( Can we at least get the mushroom ragout back? I had the mushroom ragout on the Paradise last week. Yummy

Oh no she didn't say "icky" seafood...:D Has anyone noticed that according to the menu link, the first night's dessert menu features an apple mouse cake? Pass... firstcruiserDB Posted May 13, 2006 #79 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Thanks, Serene, for taking the time to share the menu! Your posts are ALWAYS so informative! Just wondering, though.... With all this wonderful food, how on earth do you choose an evening to eat at the specialty restaurant??? Do they offer any of the same dishes? I wonder if there's a current menu for The Point on the Conquest anywhere? Thanks, again!

rt63 Posted May 13, 2006 #81 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Just out of curiousity, does anyone know (or remember) a dessert called Banana Soup? It's juiced banana with some kind of rum and it's *really* good. I had it on my first cruise ever (before anyone told me I could get seconds and thirds of things) and it wasn't on Carnival. Any ideas which fleet it might have been on? Are you thinking of Bananas Foster? Typical New Orleans dessert I think, at least that's where I last had it. Certainly worth trying if it ever appears on a menu.
ESMBDS Posted May 13, 2006 #82 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Thanks so much for posting the menus. We're going on the Fascination next weekend and I'm curious to see if the menus have changed. I'll try and post the menus as well if anyone is interested. Okay, here's my question. Do you ever order more than one of something? Like if you really want two appetizers, do you order them when you're placing the order? Of if you want one soup, but you want to try one that looks interesting, but you're not sure. I wouldn't want to look like an oinker, especially with people we've never met before! I'll never forget on my very first cruise with my best friend, our tablemates were these two guys around our age and they ordered one of everything just to be able to sample new things... serene56 Posted May 13, 2006 Author #83 Share Posted May 13, 2006 .Do you ever order more than one of something? Stacey We always order two of stuff. They dont bring it out at the same time so make your selections accordingly. If you want to eat two lobsters on formal night request it in the begining. We always ordered a soup-- just to try it. and who cares if the people think you are an oinker-- you are not gonna see them again after that week. Besides-- wait til you see the size of the portions they give you.

*CruiseFan* Posted May 16, 2006 #85 Share Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks so much Serene! It makes my mouth water and my tummy growl reading it! Is this what they'll do on every single ship, I just want to be sure because I've already got my week's menu picked out! Its the menu on most ships. the menu is being put on all ships it the carnival fleet but people sailing on the older ships that are doing 3-4 day cruises are reporting back they still have the old one. THe Valor should have the new menus by now. Will you be going to the Supper CLub one night?
lecach Posted May 16, 2006 #87 Share Posted May 16, 2006 We were on the Triumph last week and this was not our menu. I wish it had been - there were a few nights where we had difficulty finding something that DH would like. There was no Essence of Japan which I was looking forward too. The sweet and sour shrimp were great though.

Perseids Posted May 19, 2006 #90 Share Posted May 19, 2006 Do you ever order more than one of something? Stacey I think ordering more than one of something is fine... We are doing Alaska and it is very expensive compared to some of the other cruises. I feel that in the dining room is one shot you have at getting your money's worth :)! Thanks so much for posting all of this serene! Ashkarita...we did Scarlett's (Valor's Supper Club) on our cruise last May...all I can say is it was well worth the extra money we spent. The meal lasted 2 1/2 hours and was 11 courses long...It was like dining in the finest restaurant in the States. We still talk about that evening. In my honest opinion it was the best dining experience we had...and the regular dining experiences were nothing to sneeze about. I hope you have a great time on the Valor. If you need deck plans just email me with the contact info in my profile and I will be more than happy to help.

LOL on the ordering more than one thing -- I'm pretty sure my fiance does it every night and eats both in their entirety. I like that Carnival gives the options of having one of the entrees as a starter because then I can get a taste of it without having to get an entire extra meal I know I won't finish :) My fiance is slim and in shape too, but on a cruise he eats like a horse! goodml Posted May 19, 2006 #93 Share Posted May 19, 2006 I'm doing a 5 nighter out of NYC on the Victory in August. I can't remember if Carnival serves lobster on cruises that are less than 7 nights. It's been a long time since our trips on Fantasy. Does anyone know? I think one of the early posters on this thread had mentioned that they had been on a 5 night and I'm hoping they'll poke their head back in here to tell us the difference.
