We stopped at Sete about 15 years ago on a Med cruise. As I recall it was a smallish fishing village where they tendered us right into the heart of town. There was some kind of old tower within walking distance, but the main attraction was that they had a waterfront quai area with a group of cafes/restaurants known for their fresh seafood. There is also a beach nearby. This is one of those ports where you can either spend a quiet day walking through the town and have a nice lunch, or grab a tour that goes to some other location in the region (Montpellier is pretty close).
