NCL Wishlist....

Keeping the night discos and clubs 18 and over! And STICKING with it! I hate when they have the young teens in there and they act up and stuff. Now, I've been in the clubs since I was 16, but even then I noticed the others my age were aggrivating. If you behave, it's fine, but when they get rowdy, time to go!

 

Options other than just iced tea, water, and coffee being free. I hate tea and coffee, and would like SOMETHING other than water! Even if it were lemonade or juice, or soda for that matter (soda cards are excellent for me ;) ).

 

Um, better trivia prizes. I have more cup coozies and bookmarks than I know what to do with (granted it has been getting better, they've gotten NICE pens and some keychains)!

 

Food's fine. No complaints.

But I am really concerned about seeing a return to first-class dining rooms and second-class dining rooms on cruise ships (particularly on mass-market lines), or for segregating suite passengers so they don't have to rub elbows with the hoi polloi. Similarly, I don't like preferred seating areas in the theaters for a certain class of passengers. I think it's just wrong to have passengers approach a seemingly-public space (e.g., the suite-only Neptune lounge on HAL's ships or the suite-only dining room on NCL's) and be told "go away--you don't belong here."

 

Which dining room/restauarant on NCL (specifically, the Jewel) is reserved for suite passengers only???

1. Soda included (I don't remember it being included in the early cruises from the 80's and 90's in the dining room but maybe I have forgotten. I only remember the tea, coffee, juices.

2. Interactive on-TV sign up for excursions, restaurant reservations, as well as ability to view shipboard account.

3. Standard beef selection nightly

4. Go back to when room service included a full hot breakfast in all categories. Nice when there are early port days!

5. Cold soups + Beef Wellington

6. When at anchor (not docked), allow pax who can prove they have a standing and time sensitive booking at an island for an excusion (ex. divers who must meet their diveboat in time), to disembark in time to make the reservation.

I wish NCL had a one-way cruise to Alaska, either from Seattle or Vancouver, so that some time can be spent in Denali. I have called NCL, and they do not have any cruises to Alaska except round trip.

they did until a few years ago: we sailed from Vancouver to Anchoage; it was great. NMNita

I think they should replace all mattresses with sleep number mattresses. I would really reduce the weight of the ship with all air mattresses, saving fuel and allow everyone to set their mattresses to the exact firmness they like.

 

Of course they would have to add electrical outlets to support the mattresses, so it probably won't happen.

Wouldn't it be great if NCL and other cruiselines took notice of these message boards to improve their service??? I see there are 4-5 wishes that keep getting repeated. If NCL made just those changes, imagine how many passengers would be happy and return for more cruises.

None as posted but what they have done on Jewel only is open for breakfast and lunch Cagney's for Penthouse passengers. The specialty restaurants on all the other ship are normally closed during the day.

 

By doing this they reduce the demand on the main dinning room but still limit the numbers of passengers that will show up for a very small restaurant.

 

They did not take anything away from all the passengers but in fact added this for penthouse passengers.

I agree with you but hope this doesn't lead to a "class" structure like ocean liners had in past years.

I agree with you but hope this doesn't lead to a "class" structure like ocean liners had in past years. I see that as a possiblility since they have started reserving portions of the show room for suite passengers also.

They have not just started. There has been seating set aside for the GV and AA passengers on the Dawn since day one. I guess if you spend 30K to cruise the least someone should expect is a decent seat at the shows.

 

In my opinion they are not the best seats in the Stardust. Anything that NCL can do to get some to spend 10k-30K for week is fine with me. Those are the fares that make the below cost GTY bookings posible;)

Hope future ships aren't all suites except for a deck or two where they put the rest of us steerage passengers, with separate decks of dining rooms and entertainment for those 1st class passengers. IMO-separation of passengers by class isn't a good thing.

In fact I think NCL is going the other way. It used to be only those with suites could make reservations for the week in advance. The rest of us had to wait until the day prior.

 

The new Latitudes program brings almost all the perks of a penthouse to the loyal passengers no matter what catagory cabin they book. Full VIP services except a butler for Platinum level.

My feelings exactly, Monte. Do whatever you'd like for 'em in their suites: full-time masseuse or masseur, jeroboams of champagne, magic-fingers beds, free laundry, bottomless shrimp buckets, toga-clad grape-feeding hand maidens, whatever. I don't care.

 

But when you've got hundreds of passengers standing in the stairwell waiting a long time to be tendered in to Georgetown and a bunch of people with smug looks on their faces stroll haughtily by to the head of the line, I think it sends a really bad signal. I've been on both sides of this situation, and didn't like it either way.

 

Where do you stop? Separate public bathrooms for suite passengers? A cordoned-off section of the casino? A suite-only section of the private island? A separate suite line for the on-deck BBQ? Better toppings on pizzas? Real maple syrup for waffles? Sorry, but it's a trend I'm not happy to see.

The only 'suite perk' I really care about is the bathtub:D !

 

I think NCL (and every other line for that matter) should develop some sort of little bathing rooms where the rest of us can access a tub, even for a fee. Make it part of the spa, maybe give it some sort of enticing name (horizontal hydrotherapy?). It wouldn't matter to me, I just need to shave my legs...

 

Have them call me when they get this going - I'll be back on NCL in a heartbeat!
