Triumph review -The good, bad and very ugly. May 13-20

This was our 4th cruse. The first with Carnival. We traveled with my parents who we treated since it was their 50th anniversary.

The good – The ship itself. It was well maintained and the rooms were nice. We had 2 balcony state rooms on deck six. Our cabin steward John was great. He tried to fulfill our every need. The dining rooms were magnificent. Most of the food was good. Some things were not to our liking. Breakfast in the dinning room was the best. We loved it. The Carnival dancers put on an awesome show. The casino was large and had a lot of slots. My husband loved the poker.

The bad – The food in the buffet was awful. We tried it 4 different times too! The dining room was for us the majority of the trip. Room service was good when you could get it. It was a two hour wait sometimes. Especially late at night. The pools were packed with kids. Yes, one is supposed to be an adult pool but it was not enforced. The pools were very small. I was so discouraged I didn’t even get in them. Chair hogs abound. They moved chairs into the aisle where I could not get Mom’s wheelchair through. Speaking of…. Traveling with someone in a wheelchair was eye-opening if not frustrating. We would be waiting for an elevator and before we could maneuver the chair in people would jump in front and take the elevator. This happened several times. I was astounded! Handicapped people are treated so rudely.

The ugly – One night at dinner a waitress dumped a tray with 12 dinners on the head of the woman next to us. She was bleeding and in shock. They took her out in a wheelchair. I spoke with her later the next day and all Carnival did was give her aspirin and convince her she was okay. Her husband said she was experiencing headaches and they would take her to the doctor when the ship docked. Then when they were debarking her husband got caught in the escalator and was injured. A carnival employee was escorting him off! Both things were accidents but we all felt Carnival did not handle it well. They even cleaned up the mess at the table before they took pictures for the accident report. I filled out an eye witness report.

The really ugly – My husband liked to chat with the dealers in the casino. He talked a lot to a dealer named Nick. Nick told him he had been reprimanded for getting caught in passengers’ cabins three times. (Why wasn’t he FIRED?) All young women. Nick was hitting on a seventeen year old who was traveling with her grandparents. That night he left the casino with her. Nick claims that a lot of the employees sleep with the guests. Parents watch your kids!

In spite of the things above we had a good time with my parents. Since they had never been on a cruise ship they were in heaven.

Why were parents letting a 17 year old into the casino where it states it is for 18 and older? Yes parents WATCH YOUR KIDS!! Get them out of the adult ppol and out of the casino!

Did you report the dealer? You have his name, his position, the ship and sailing dates... If this guy actually has a disciplinary track record for this kind of thing, it would be easy for CCL to verify your husband's account.

Not only that, I bet a lot of the guests sleep with other guests. Heck, there may even be employees sleeping with other employees!! You know those Carnival cruises are nothing but giant sex parties. And predators everywhere!! Preying on innocent 17 year olds who are hanging out in the casino. What a sick world we live in!
