Has anyone cruised Disney WITHOUT kids? We love our kids, but they are grown and out of the house. We still want to cruise on Disney. Just wondering what that will be like without kids.

Thanks....

My wife and I (we don't have children) cruised on the Magic in 2000 and enjoyed ourselves. We have another booked for later this year. The only reason why we haven't done more on Disney the price difference.

Hi,

we have done 11 DL cruises so far and 7 of them we did just the two of us. We have 4 more booked and 3 of the 4 will be as a couple only. Maybe all 4. We love watching all the kids having fun, but there is always plenty of adult only things to do too.

We have never felt over run with kids or had any problems. They tend to stay by the mickey pool area for the most part.

The adult beach on CC is very nice, but we generally stay on the family beach area. So much to do, so little time.

I cant wait for September to go again!

We do have 4 adult kids and 4 grandkids who have joined us on a few of our cruises.

You will find plenty of adults around to chat with, if that is what you want. just go to the adult pool and hot tubs. Plus the clubs at night are 18 and older after 9 p.m.

Please try it, you'll be hooked just like everyone else. Just remember no casinos or party harty clubs. Just good music, dancing, comedians and magicians etc... Good clean fun.

We two seniors sailed without grandkids on Disney Magic, back in 12-98, and had a grand time. We did it conjunction with a land stay at Disneyworld. We told ourselves that it was a preview for when the grandkids were older.

The ship is very well laid out, and has amazing separation between kids and adults, should you want to steer clear of youngsters.

We would love to see Disney come out with a couple more ships, and perhaps offer a trip with a land stay at Disney Hong Kong or Tokyo.

Thanks for all your quick replies! We have booked the Disney Magic for next April and are really looking forward to it.

We don't really gamble, so no casino isn't a problem for us. We love kids too, so no problem there...but it is good to know there are "adult" areas too.

Thanks again. :)

We just booked our 5th Disney Cruise for Sept 2007. We will be celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary with fellow Disney fanatics and friends. We are 55+, no kids, and just love Disney.

My girlfriend and I were on a Disney cruise last month. We are in our mid-late 20s and have no kids. We had a wonderful time on the cruise! There is definitely a lot for adults to do, as well as dedicated adult areas. We were in the late dinner seating, and had the latest staggered dining time (PTTA, 8:30). Our table was all adults, and the majority of the people in the dining room were adults.

As for adult-only venues: There is an exclusive adult-only restaurant called Palo. Castaway Cay has an adult-only beach (Serenity Bay). The ship has an adult-only pool (Quiet Cove Pool). There is an adult-only nightclub (Wavebands on the Wonder; Rocking Bar 'D on the Magic), an adult-only sports bar (Diversions), an adult-only piano lounge (Cadilac Lounge on the Wonder; Sessions on the Magic), an adult-only coffee house near the adult pool (Cove Cafe), and the spa and fitness area is for adults only. My girlfriend and I used most of the adult facilities, so I can give you more info if you have any questions about them. I very highly recommend that you go on the Disney cruise! The only adult venue that the Disney ships do not have is a casino. But with so much to do you wouldn't want to spend much time gambling anyway, plus it keeps you from losing all of your money. Enjoy your cruise!

The wife and i went on the wonder last year for our honeymoon. Everyone asks why we went on a Disney cruise without kids but we had a great time. We never felt overwhelmed by children. The adult beach on castaway cay was great! So peaceful and drink service to boot!

How much are the drinks?

We all know the cruise is a little more pricey than the other cruiselines I was just wondering if the drinks were also more.

There is a drink of the day everyday for 3.50. I can remember planters punch and bahama mama being a couple. They also sell a refillable beer mug if you're a beer drinker. I can't remember the price but i think it was around 12 dollars for the mug and 2 dollars to refill it.

Hi Gamma....

My husband and I are looking forward to going on the Disney Magic next April too. Thanks for posting this question. I too am wondering if there is enough for us to do (24 & 32) because we really love the Disney style.

DH and I did the Wonder for the first time with my family and enjoyed it so much, we went back for our anniversary- just the two of us. We don't have kids and had a wonderful time. We were seated at a dinner table with two other childless couples and Disney does a great job of keeping the kids in their areas. Disney is our favorite so far. Have fun!
