JohninDC Posted January 16, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Wow! A thread that is almost 2 years old! ;) Several reports on this board about those using Uber or Lyft to get from FLL to POM - ride takes about 45+ minutes and the reported fares are about $40 Taxi on the same run will be closer to $75+tip Flying the day of cruise? You do not have time, IMHO, to mess around waiting to fill a shared shuttle. serene56 Posted January 17, 2017 #27 Share Posted January 17, 2017 has anyone done this lately? we arrive in ft. lauderdale around 12:45. has anyone rented a taxi or used a car service lately to get from FLL to Miami? taxi is very expensive. (landing at 12:45- wow you are very brave. I agree that a shuttle might not be your best option with your flight landing so late. Miami is about 30-45 minutes away depending the the traffic. Car service is the way for you to go Can you change that flight to an earlier one? or go the night before? when is this trip?
Lido_Deck Posted January 17, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Has anyone taken a cab from the Port of Miami Royal Carribean terminal to the Ft. Laudedale Airport? There will be two of us traveling and I didn't know if it is cheaper than the $25/person bus trip. Thanks for any info...:) Brandon Private car and taxi will be about $85-$95 from POM to FLL. Uber is going to be considerably less. The TriRail on the weekends is $5 per person and departs MIA once an hour at :17 after the hour arriving 40 minutes later. Then you have to take a free shuttle to FLL. It's OK if you have plenty of time, especially if you don't make one departure and have to wait nearly an hour for the next one. The cost difference between Uber and TriRail is negligible, so I would take Uber which will be a lot less hassle and inconvenience.
Lido_Deck Posted January 17, 2017 #29 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Why are we posting on a thread from 2006? Why are we posting on the same thread in 2017?
Lido_Deck Posted January 17, 2017 #30 Share Posted January 17, 2017 The original post was from 8 years ago. And the more recent posts are from 2 years ago. But thanks anyways for the info. It's now 2017 and the OP is no longer a new cop, he is more than halfway to retirement.
