Miami Scuba Diving suggestions

My husband and I have our advanced certification. We leave on a cruise out out Miami on October 28th. We're thinking about flying in early on Thursday so we could get a couple of dives in on Friday before we leave on the cruise on Saturday. Any suggestions for a dive shop in Miami (we'd prefer to dive with a dive master)? Also, any suggestions for a hotel near this dive shop but hopefully not too far from the cruise ship terminal?

From Miami you can easily do a day trip to Key Largo for some diving. While there are some sites up in Miami/Lauderdale area, they don't really compete with KL imho.

My persnl fav is :

QUIESCENCE DIVING

Phone: 305.451.2440

Key Largo , FL 33037

On the plus side - they are an old established shop and only run "6 packs" so no crowds. On the down - for you - the dives are not typically escorted, they just take you out and point you in the right direction so to speak. But in Pennecamp it is hard to find depth below 45 ft so that's usually not a problem.

Lot's of other options available in the upper Key Largo area however ...

Most shops run a morn and afternoon trip. Two tanks each.

If it were me - I'd get a room down Key Largo way for Thu. Do a Fri Morning dive, and either spend Fri in KL too or shift to Miami for Fri nite in the Grove (don't care for South Beach)
