tipping for room service

The room service staff is not included in the fixed per day amount. It is customary to give a dollar or two for coffee and acpntinental breakfast or more for a full meal. If the person bringing it is your regular room cleaner(which has happened to me), a extra tip is not expected. Since room service is not charged for extra(unless you order booze or soda, a small amount is the custom....some people don't do it and some people remove the tips and don't leave anythimg the cheap so and so's.

Do you normally tip extra for room service even if the tip is supposed to be included in your final bill? If you do, how much do you usually give the waiter?

Thanks,

Tips for room service are not included in the $10 per person per day that appears on your final bill. A dollar or two for most ordinary :)room service orders is customary.

This is from Princess's answer book

"During your cruise, you will meet our staff in a variety of locations who provide you with excellent service. Many more crew support those who serve you directly. For your convenience a discretionary Hotel and Dining charge of $10 per passenger per day (including children) will be added to your shipboard account on a daily basis. This charge will be shared amongst those staff who help provide and support your cruise experience, including the wait staff, stateroom stewards, buffet stewards, galley staff, laundry staff and others. Please note this is a discretionary charge and should you wish to remove or make any adjustments, you may do so by contacting the Passenger Service/Purser's Desk onboard.

Casino dealers and Lotus Spa personnel do not share in the Hotel and Dining charge as not all passengers utilize these services."

It is ambiguous enough to include room service--live and learn thanks to the Poster above...I will still tip but that is me..
