cantwait! Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Hi, I was wondering if RCCL charged any service fee for cashing Travellers checks at the Guest Relations desk on board. Does anyone know ? Also, do Credit Cards charge the Foreign exchange fee for transactions on islands such as Aruba, Curacao, St.Marteen, St.Thomas, which accept US currency ? TIA ! sassmofi Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I was not charged a fee to cash my American Express travellers cheques. Maybe someones else will let you know about the credit cards. I just used cash. Marinda
zotzer Posted June 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2006 No charge for cashing travellers cheques. As for the credit card charges, I think you'll need to check with your CC company. Tracy
cb at sea Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 There should never be a charge for cashing a traveler's check. They are the same as cash! There is a cost to purchase them, in most cases. I've never found them to be necessary--we alway just take cash, as well. (And our credit card!)
fireguy091 Posted June 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2006 On our last cruise we just took a feww hundred dollars in cash, mainly for the bars at the airport, drinks on the plane, the hotel bar, and oh yeah the taxi to the ship. The rest of the trip anytime we needed cash we just went to the casino and got a cash advance with our room key. Then paid the bill off when we got home.
