Happy Canada Day July 1

My wife and I are going to Vancouver for fine dining and a romantic Hotel stay as July 1st is also her birthday as it is Canada's Birthday. :D

What special festivities will they have in Vancouver?

 

We'll be going to the "Sparkle" fireworks display in Santa Barbara for the 4th. Tons of people show up with picnic dinners on the beach and nearby parks and wait and wait and wait until 9:00 for the fireworks show. Then, 10 minutes later, it's over, and everyone leaves and clogs Highway 101... Used to love the days when DH and I rode his motorcycle to town for the festivities- much easier than sitting in a car dealing with the traffic...

Our Canadian employees are moaning today, because they have to work tomorrow.. but they get Monday off for July 4th... I think it would be cool to have a day off when everyone else is working.. would feel like playing hookey :)

BTW, my DH is Canadian so I'm much more familiar with Canada Day than I used to be. We'll be celebrating by PACKING FOR OUR FIRST CRUISE! Woo Hoo! So, take off, eh! Happy Canada Day!
