Transport from Seward train depot to ship

It is very walkable (10-15 minutes at a reasonable pace). 1/2 a mile tops. Obviously, if you are hauling your luggage, that's a different story, and I'd recommend a cab for $5+tip if you have a lot of stuff.

Newbie cruiser question: How do we transport our luggage between the Seward train depot and the pier? Is it walkable? We are travelling southbound on the Radiance July 15.

We too are on the Southbound 7/15 radiance cruise. Come join us at the roll call, we're still trying to get enough together for an official meet and mingle

As only a suggestion, the highlight here is Kenai Fjords. The boat tours are highly recommended and way superior to anything you will experience from your cruiseship for varied wildlife and glacier.

You could pick up the 11:30am boat trip, they pick up at the depot, store your bags and shuttle you to your ship after the trip.

Consider taking advantage of one of my top touring opportunities.

If not of interest, take a cab. It's a LONG walk with luggage to the ship and not good sidewalks, a lot of gravel.

Budget Queen,

Do you know which of the tour operations is the best for the Kenai Fjords trip?

We're disembarking in Seward, going to Anchorage to rent a car and after Denali we head back to Seward specifically to do this tour.

Why are you backtracking??? You can easily do the Kenai Fjords trip your same day of arrival, take the train and be in Anchorage that night??? http://www.kenaifjords.com has an 11:30am trip that you can catch the train that night.

This suggestion will probably also save you a day's car rental??? Unless you have a great deal of time for interior touring, you may be cutting into other touring that would allow you to see more of Alaska.

Otherwise the best tour is the Northwestern Fjords tour.
