Leaving on Triumph 7/8 -Western Carrib.

 

Staying at Hampton Inn on Brickell adjacent to Causeway and I-95

Quiet - nice

DW and I braved Naasty Thunderstorms to go to dinner and shop at Bayside last night.

 

Had a ball at "Bubba Gumps" and the food was great. She had shrimp fajitas, I had Fried Shrimp. Her drink wasn't to her liking and we flagged down the manager -- who was working the floor helping his staff and he was grand in making it right....

 

Staff was SUPER friendly - was not crowded at all

 

Well - we'll be off to Little Havana and shopping in Coral Gables later.

 

We drove in from North Fl. Via the Turnpike and I-95 no real problems

 

Except for the normal construction - a few slowdowns and the tropical thunderboomers that slowed everything down for a little while. Several storm related wrecks but no delays of any consequence but then we left 2 days early to visit Mt. Dora in central fl. and to stop at the Lakeridge winery in Clermont -- adjacent to the turnpike.

 

We are 10-15 minutes from Bayside and the Cruise terminal.

 

Bayside was friendly and has a Carribbean flavors -- plenty of variety in shops and food. From formal Italian and steakhouse to Hooters...

 

 

Well - we are here and the fun has begun...

We booked our pre-cruise stay for next Feb. at the Hampton Inn & Suites at Waterford by Blue Lagoon. Is that the same one you are in??

Going next year, have not booked hotel. Tell me about your place....is it nice, inexpensive? We are flying so would need a taxi to go to Bayside. Does the hotel have shuttle to the pier? Thanks for taking the time out of your vacation for updates. Hope you write a review. Have a wonderful cruise.
