do you book your own air? right now its higher than the cruise lines are offering and I'm out of ff miles.

Actually, we just booked air through United and it was cheaper than cruise line offering (and it's an open jaw flight too)

We just booked (our TA did actually) thru NWA and Qantas and the price was about the same as Hal was charging. We are travelling to NZ and returning from Australia which increases the price. We are happy with the price when you consider where we are going.

Last March, we booked through United as soon as tickets for January 2007 were available. We got an unbelievably low price, LAX to Auckland, then Sydney back to LAX -- much less than cruise line's price. United had a special fare offering the week that we booked so we purchased our tickets at just the right time. Keep your eyes open. They could run another fare sale. Also check out Qantas and Air New Zealand. Sometimes they have specials.

We just got an excellant price from Jal, Business Class to Singapore,than Syd to YVR. There are deals out there you just have to keep looking. Regards Jake

United does not fly to Auckland - they will put you on Air New Zealand which was wonderful - also Princess put most people on Qantas - we nver heard a positive comment about them during our entire trip
