NYteacher Posted July 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2004 All of you have been so helpful in answering my questions, here is one more--the train gets into Anchorage around 11:30 in the morning, our flight isn't until 8:00 pm. Does anyone have any suggestions about seeing Anchorage in the afternoon and what we can do with our luggage? Thank you again, collectively, for all your help. As a first time cruiser I have really (!) appreciated all the advice, I will return the favors when I get back and also post a review.
Budget Queen Posted July 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2004 Rent a car and put the bags in the trunk. Without one you are EXTREMELY limited in what you can do and likely will be paying more for cabs back and forth if you want to go downtown. At least with a car you can see a little of Anchorage. Head to the visitor center downtown, pick up the visitor guide, consider their walking tour, biking the Coastal Trail, Native Heritage Museum. AND then have a nice dinner at the Glacier Brewhouse!!
