TATAR63 Posted September 17, 2007 #26 Share Posted September 17, 2007 My husband and I just returned from New England cruise on the NCL Spirit, we did the Lobster Bake at Halifax and Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor one was definitely the better of the two. :p Halifax: Lobster, cole slaw, potato salad, roll and apple crisp. This was in a building real close to Peggy's Cove. :D :D :D Bar Harbor: Lobster, mussels, corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, cole slaw, roll and blueberry cake. This was at the Bar Harbor Club, we then walked back to the pier to shop, just a couple blocks. The Lobster was very good at both places. Sides at Bar Harbor much better in my opinion. Also a much nicer atmosphere, served buffet style. Halifax sides were on our plates when we arrived. Both included tours before the meal, we enjoyed both a lot. cruzluvr2 Posted September 19, 2007 #27 Share Posted September 19, 2007 Can someone please describe what a lobster roll is? My assumption says it is lobster on a hoagie roll -- but that's my imagination.
Renee2882 Posted September 19, 2007 #28 Share Posted September 19, 2007 It's the same basic idea as chicken salad but with lobster instead it's usually served on a hot dog bun but i've had it on sandwich rolls or brioche too.
Jan_In_Maine Posted September 19, 2007 #29 Share Posted September 19, 2007 A lobster roll in Maine is lobster meat with some mayo (nothing else) on a bread roll (which is different than a hot dog bun) Claw meat if the best! Jan
