enj174 Posted July 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2006 I was ready to knit-pick everything wrong with my first Carnival Cruise. But after the first night I realized what a great product Carnival actually puts out and for the price, you just can't beat them. The staff is friendly, the food is outstanding (alot better than RCI imho) and the fellow passengers are not as pretentious as some you might find on the other lines. My favorite Carnival feature is the piano bar! We were there till it closed several times. I was wondering if the same songs get requested throughout the fleet of ships. I'm sure it does. What's your favorite song request? My favorite is "Easy" by Lionel Ritchie.

Rare silentbob007 Posted July 10, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2006 The ones I remember the most are Piano Man and Sweet Caroline ... at least twice a night, each. :)
wentworth Posted July 10, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2006 I'm not familiar with dueling pianos, how does this work exactly? Two piano players facing each other alternate playing/singing songs. They try to "outdo" each other with their style and song choices. They get the crowd worked up. It's almost like..... OH YEAH!!!! .... DO BETTER THAN THIS!!!. Very entertaining. LizaMM Posted July 10, 2006 #15 Share Posted July 10, 2006 I love so many!! But I guess I would pick "Sweet Caroline" as it always seems to get the whole crowd in the room singing which is so much fun!!
CTMak Posted July 10, 2006 #16 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Friends in Low Places, by Garth Brooks. Voted (VH-1) best bar singin' song. Incidently, Howl at the Moon and Rum Runners are 2 dueling piano bar "chains" that are quite good. Typically a bit more "show" oriented than the intimate settings of Carnival's Piano Bars. enj174 Posted July 10, 2006 Author #17 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Yeah...a dueling piano lounge would be great for the Conquest Class Carnival ships. The lounge could be a little bigger, have tiny TV cameras pointed at the pianos and some flat screen TVs around the lounge. In between the "dueling" it could be a regular piano bar. If you're reading this Carnival just think of all the drinks that could be sold.
woohoo4ue Posted July 10, 2006 #18 Share Posted July 10, 2006 How about Summer Nights from Grease? =) Brad in the Piano Bar had a funny song a couple of weeks ago on the Conquest. It went something like this: Doe: Is what I use for beer Rae: The guy who buys my beer Me: Is who I buy beer for Fa: is where I go for beer So: I think I'll have a beer La: la la la la la la beer Ti: No thanks I'll have a beer and that brings us back to beer, beer, beer. It was cute!!
