Wake Gazer Posted July 13, 2006 #51 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Barb, What a great review! We're avid cruisers, but haven't yet sailed on the Dawn. We feel like we already know the staff, thanks to you! We are sailing on July 22 and also like to dress for dinner. Were many men wearing tuxes on the ship? Hubby needs to decide whether to pack his or leave it at home . . . We've put messages on the roll calls about the CC get together but are having a really poor response. After you Flashers, the officers may be disappointed in how many show up for our meeting! Thanks again for all your wonderful information -- it's great to see that so many people have enjoyed the Dawn and sail her again and again.
snorklinbarb Posted July 13, 2006 Author #52 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Hi Wake Gazer, There were only a few men in tuxes (DH being one of them), some in suits, blazers and the like and the rest resort casual. 2 opportunities to "dress up" if that's your thing. That's the nice thing about freestyle, no pressure. So it's completely up to your husband (or is it?;)) Hope you get a few more in your CC group, but no matter what, enjoy yourselves to the max! It would be cool if you run into any of the maitre d's/waiters I mentioned. If you do see Keith (asst maitre d' in Salsa's) please tell him you saw his name on CC. He'll undoubtedly have something clever to say. Also say "hi" from Barb & Bob.:)
mbisson Posted July 13, 2006 #53 Share Posted July 13, 2006 2 opportunities to "dress up" if that's your thing. Actually, if one wants, they can dress up anytime. -Monte

snorklinbarb Posted July 13, 2006 Author #55 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Not exactly dress as you want after 5:30, as folks who got turned away with blue jeans and shorts found out. Signs outside the restaurant and notices everyday in the Daily basically lay that out. But you can wear jeans to the Trattoria and shorts OK in the buffet. lastingtouch Posted July 14, 2006 #58 Share Posted July 14, 2006 Thanks for the great review! Now you got me excited again! Not too long to wait for ours. Did you ever get to the Martini Clinic? Is Eka still there? She is one of the funniest. Our "CC" group, The Leid Back Cruisers showed up at the clinic in diapers we got from our butler, Anshuman. We had a blast. Do you know if Matt will still be there on our cruise Sept. 9th? OR the butler, Anshuman? :D Thanks again!
snorklinbarb Posted July 14, 2006 Author #59 Share Posted July 14, 2006 lt, Sorry, didn't go to the martini or margarita clinic. Don't know about Matt's schedule nor anything about Anshuman. Perhaps others who went on this cruise or recently can help you. Hope you have a great trip!:D
