angiepb Posted July 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2006 What are the advantages of booking your next cruise while you are on the ship? I want to know so I can decide if it's worth our while to book a cruise when we are on Freedom in October. Thanks in advance.
Cloudmaster Posted July 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2006 We did it once, and we found two advantages. One, we got a small room credit for the cruise we booked, and two, it seemed as though we had a better choice of cabins. Of course, getting off the cruise ship and knowing when you will be back beats getting off the cruise ship and not having another one to look forward to! shipknotshore Posted July 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2006 It's always nice to have the shipboard credits from booking a new cruise while your on one. Onboard credits are: 3-5 nites=$50.00, 6-8 nites=$100.00, 9+ nites=$200.00. It seems that we've been able to get a wider selection of available cabins to book from too. I agree with cloudmaster-just knowing you've got another cruise waiting in the wings makes getting of the ship less painful.
angiepb Posted July 13, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks to everyone for the help. Is the shipboard credit usable on the current cruise or on the future cruise that you book (or both)? What if you book a future cruise on the last day of the current cruise, do you only have one day to use the credit? Also, is there a reduced deposit amount? I think I heard that somewhere. truffles2 Posted July 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2006 The shipboard credit will be for use on the future cruise that you are booking.
kc320 Posted July 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Ditto, the shipboard credit is for you future cruise. Deposit is the normal amt. One interesting thing you can change ships and or dates and keep your shipboard credit as long as you be sure to KEEP the same booking # you get when you book onboard. So it really "pays" to book something while you are onboard, even if it's not exactly the cruise you want to take!
Dreamin Posted July 13, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Will you still have the same booking number if you switch cruise dates/ship and one of the passengers? Or is that too much of a change?

cruisinfanatic Posted July 14, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2006 This is getting rediculous. There are 3 posts on the same page about booking onboard. Maybe if someone really doesn't know, they could read past the first page to find out.

Oh, wait... :)
