Post Cruise stay in Switzerland

Booked a Med cruise disembarking in Venice and we are looking into the possibility of spending a couple of nights in Switzerland. Anybody done anything similar? Looking at either renting a car or taking the train. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Switzerland is my favorite country in Europe. I think it is a good choice for a post cruise stay. I have friends there so have never stayed at a hotel. I will say that it is a very expensive country to visit but certainly worth the effort. You will see the most beautiful scenery in the world.

I will also vouch for Switz, fell in love with the Alps. Which is why I loved Austria/Germany/Switz the best. No scenery like that anywhere else....

Switzerland is a beautiful country. Unless you plan to return your car to the same place, I would take a train.:)
