Need some info on anchorage

We are doing the northbound cruise on the coral princess next month and we have about ten hours to kill before we catch our flight back home. My question is what time does the princess shuttle leave Whittier and how long a trip is it to Anchorage? Do they drop us off at the airport? Is there baggage storage at the airport? And last but not least is it worth renting a car to see the sights for a few hours or is it better to take a bus into town? Thanks in advance for any help!!

There are busses leaving from 7:30am - 9:30am. It is about a 1 - 1.5 hour drive to Anch. Princess has a luggage storage at the Airport and downtown at the Egan Center. The later flights usually have their luggage at the Egan Center. The Late Alaska Airlines luggage is at the Airport Luggage Room.

Renting a car would give you far more options to consider, but taking the ship transfer is unknown when your departure time is and plenty of waiting time to add up.

 

So I suggest you may want to consider touring downtown Anchorage. Request their visitor guide, http://www.anchorage.net a walking tour is included. Your bags will be stored at the Egan Center which is downtown, it closes at 6pm with a shuttle to the airport. You are best with a 2 hour window at the Anchorage airport, expecially cruise ship days, very very busy.
