Krazy Kruizers Posted July 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2004  Someone quite a few posts ago mentioned that the ship they were on you could rent PC's. I think it might have been the WEesterdam. Does anyone know of this? How much does it cost? :)
wwinfl91 Posted July 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2004 HI Krazy Kruisers I think this service is available on Crystal Cruises but I have never seen it offered on HAL. Have a great next cruise.
iluvcruzin Posted July 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2004 I've seen people talk about it on select RCCL cruises also. They buy a internet access package where you can either rent their laptop or use your own. That's all I know about it.
seattleadjuster Posted July 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2004 I'd wonder why you would want to rent a pc? The PC's (at least on the Statendam) didn't work unless you were very close to the computer lounge. I know the price to rent the wireless card was $10 per day, or $70 per week, and CompUSA is selling them for about $30 right now. I'd imagine renting a PC is equally expensive (plus they offer insurance which is expensive). If you're only accessing email on yahoo, hotmail, or some other web based email system, I'd just use their desktop. I used Outlook, and I could quickly download my emails, sign off, write replies, then quickly send and download emails. This worked well.:) Computer staff was very helpful on the Statandam; however, he went back to Holland.
