I got a fabulous price for the Grande in August, and you did even better! My understanding is this used to be the Marriott Marina and then was sold. I further understand it sustained extensive damage in the hurricane last fall and is still being renovated. Thus, the lower price due to rennovations and change of management.

 

However, some other posts have indicated to me this at least used to be a fantastic place, so my hope is to get a decent room near the ship for a pre cruise one night stay.

You got a terrific rate for that property. I have stayed there before when it was a Marriott property and loved it. The location is awesome. I will be there again for two nights in December and got a decent rate of just under $200.00 a night. Now late February is a totally different story. Much higher.

I stayed there about 1.5 years ago (when it was a Marriott) and it was a nice hotel. I had no complaints about the hotel.
